Ticket to the Moon

The space race era was saturated with optimism about a future in which all daily issues, family conflicts and freedom restrictions will be forgotten in the former Czechoslovakia, on its way to better days. Before Neil Armstrong stomped his footprint into moondust, you could have bragged about a ticket that promised the exact same adventure. Pan Am Airlines promised a possible escape from occupied Prague and a discovery of all the stuff you knew from sci-fi stories of that time. Although the ticket was purchased by several thousand candidates, not one of them ever took seat in a spacecraft. They were left with nothing but a dream that one day, they would also watch the blue planet from above. (Academia Film Olomouc)
