English The first The Boy is an exception in the filmography of William Brent Bell thus far; it’s the only film that can be watched without much grumbling. That’s something that even Bell himself was aware of, so he decided to follow up his only successful film with a sequel that, unfortunately, and in the style of his previous stuff, is absolutely stupid. To begin with, the way both parts are connected is nonsense, which to some extents harms the first film, or at least what was interesting about it. The Boy II is exactly what was expected of the first The Boy – if four years ago Bell hadn’t pleasantly surprised us. Generic, boring, lazy, clearly lined and without surprises. I’m getting bored just by thinking about it. ()
