The year is 2023. Chaank Industries, ruthless world leaders in future weapons technology, hires a new chief executive, Hayden Cale. Cale soon uncovers a secret and unethical weapons project the company is involved in and her first order of business is to shut it down. Her troubles begin just as she also tries to fire the company's technological mastermind, Jack Donte - a childlike psychotic with a dark genius for exotic weapons design. Donte retaliates by unleashing into the corporate headquarters the Death Machine, the ultimate killing unit! Death Machine is an entertaining movie about a giant robot controlled by a mad scientist played by Brad Dourif, who looks like Tommy Wiseau from the 90s with his appearance and long black hair. It is a hell of a B-movie. Not only can it absolutely not be taken seriously due to the extremely eccentric Dourif, at times it descends into comedy, which is not a bad thing, it also has quite a lot of movie references that come up here and there. What else would you expect from a movie, where the main characters bear the names J. Dante, John Carpenter, Sam Raimi, and Scott Ridley? They only missed Cameron James on that list. In addition, it was the "big screen" debuts of Richard Brake and Rachel Weisz. In addition, it was also the debut for director Stephen Norrington (Blade), whose career started hopefully but was destroyed 9 years later by the legendary flop of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
