Plots(1)

From 1987 to 1997, Fox-TV documented the adventures of the Bundys--a comically distorted view of the typical American family. Patriarch Al (Ed O'Neill) is a former high school football star who has been relegated to selling women's shoes. Peggy is his overly amorous, high-haired wife with a penchant for leopard skin clothes. Daughter Kelly (Christina Applegate) is a ditzy party girl, while son Bud (David Faustino) would do anything to make his virginity a thing of the distant past. (official distributor synopsis)

English The first few seasons are very high quality, really funny with loads of great dialogs (mainly the exchanges between Al and Marcy D'Arcy), but unfortunately it gradually gets worse and worse, ending up in the deepest bogs of quality; too bad the creators didn’t quit when they were ahead, but instead made 200 episodes more than they should have... It got to the stage that the only positive aspect was the theme song sung by Sinatra. The same may be said of the actors too; only Christina visibly enjoyed her “dumb blond" performances much longer than the others. But at the start, all of them were excellent and there was some sort of “chemistry" between them. In this country it was all the more popular due to the splendid dubbing. ()

English As a wiseman once said, the problem with satire is that there are too many idiots who take it as a validation of their way of life. Married with Children is brilliant swipe at the lifestyle of the lower middle class and gender stereotypes in particular. In later season, it is also ingeniously self-reflective and caricaturises not only the stereotypes of "the American way", but also the media pillars that shape it. ()

English Sitcom designed for commercial television. In my opinion, it contains too cheap humor, and considering the exceptionally large number of episodes, it is diluted and its main elements are constantly recycled. It is based on cynical mockery and humiliation of other family members. The only valuable thing for me is the musical theme by Sinatra that accompanies the series. Overall impression: 35%. ()

English No, no and no. I once gave this sitcom one star because I just found it blatantly stupid. Just watch the first episode and in the next ones you’ll know exactly what someone is going to say, what joke and allusion is going to come... Not to mention the awkward "laughter" that is played after every "joke"... I now give Married with Children a genuine Boo! Why, you ask? I watched a bit of one episode after a long time and was embarrassed. ()
