A man who plots a wife-swap with his neighbor ends up in hot water when the neighbor's wife turns up dead in this film. Kevin Kline stars as Richard Parker, a financially strained husband to his wife Priscilla. When the eccentric and shady Eddy Otis moves in next door, Richard can't help but covet his beautiful wife Kay and is shocked when Eddy proposes switching spouses for a late-night rendezvous. Richard takes Eddy up on his offer, but when Kay turns up dead after their romantic interlude, the blame is laid on the innocent Richard! (Home Box Office)

The first half is silly and completely off, the second half is relatively suspenseful and unpredictable. But transformation of Kevin Kline's character, or rather his escapade, is just as hard to believe as the film itself. The awkward and stupid dialogues by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio are practically not worth mentioning, just like the sycophantic and a still relatively unknown Kevin Spacey. There’s no key scene to speak of and the writers must have completely lost their heads while working on the script because these “sci-fi elements” made me laugh every minute. Wife swap? No thank you. Once is enough.
