Istanbul. A place where Europe and Asia meet. Turkey’s most populous city. A destination for many tourists. And a place with huge biodiversity. Allow nature to work its magic on you and explore the lesser-known face of the city. The number of species in Istanbul equals almost half of all the species throughout continental Europe. The filmmakers spent three years filming and observing the insect population of the forests and parks surrounding the city. The result is an impressive spectacle combining animals and plants, spectacular landscape shots taken by drones and time-lapse shots of changing nature. The accompanying commentary describes the life of specific species and explains their role in the ecosystem. (Academia Film Olomouc)
