This feature-length documentary road movie tells the story and history of the legendary Slovak poets‘ collective known as the Lonely Runners, founded in the 1960s by Ivan Laučík, Peter Repka and Ivan Štrpka, who represented the progressive stream in modern Slovak poetry. The central idea of this poetic memoir is to convey the great friendship between the three writers. The film starts with Peter’s departure from his current home in Offenbach am Main to meet Ivan in Bratislava. The two then head off to Liptovský Mikuláš to see the other Ivan. They meet old friends and visit old haunts where they lived, worked and wrote their finest collections of poetry, in hopes that the Lonely Runners will meet yet again. An inspiring film about friendship and the Lonely Runners’ poetry, featuring the Lonely Runners themselves. (Art Film Fest)
