Dorothy Dandridge stars in the title role, a passionate, sexy creature who lures Joe (Harry Belafonte), a handsome soldier, away from his sweetheart (Olga James). A musical that wins mainly on the fact that these melodies are simply well-known and beautiful. "Carmen Jones," already by its name, draws inspiration from the opera "Carmen," but other well-known melodies are also heard here. The actress in the leading role is beautiful, but personally, I preferred her singing, which is truly the asset of this film. Otherwise, it is still a story about how difficult it is to choose the right person and even more difficult to tell them.
