Kind of a sequel to The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq. Five years later, Michel Houellebecq comes to a sea water therapy centre in Cabourg, Normandy. There he meets Gérard Depardieu. Together they try to survive the health regime the centre attempts to impose upon them. Depardieu has managed to sneak in a suitcase full of sausages. Meanwhile, Houellebecq remains in constant contact with his kidnappers. Events quickly start derailing their spa routine… A comedy starring an actor and a writer – both icons in their respective fields. As the director comments, Thalasso was born of a desire to find the same source of inspiration, the same way of filming, the same freedom and spontaneity that came with the making of The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq.
