The rural areas of the Castilian plateau are being abandoned. In the remote villages, the only people remaining are the elders and there are more and more empty houses. Young people come back to spend a couple of days during the Summer… if at all. The fishmonger drives his van through the empty streets hoping to sell some fish. The businesses adjacent to old roads have turned into ghosts, since the cars circulate on the highways. With emotion, nostalgia and a great sense of humor, Inland takes us to these remote places, where the people who inhabit them form part of the landscape and of a rural culture that is inevitably disappearing.
