When 12 ordinary members of the Women's Institute, a prim and proper local ladies' club, decide they need to find a more compelling way to raise money for a new charity, they turn to their traditional annual calendar and give it a very untraditional twist. English A pleasant English comedy with a pleasantly light premise that is standard for this type of comedies and what’s more, it is based on a true story. If you add in likeable characters and beautiful English countryside you get this movie that is ideal for your leisure at the end of the working week. ()

English A nice comedy with a likable cast (the snappy Helen Mirren in the lead), an undemanding but thankfully not primitive script, and a number of jokes of various (mostly endearing) calibers. I found part of the second half (before the flight to the set) a bit lengthy and I was sorry that there was no meeting with George Clooney, but otherwise I have nothing to complain about. ()
