When a travelling circus visits Tregaron in Victorian Cardiganshire, they offer much more then entertainment for Sara, a young girl who is trapped by her grieving father's strict rules and religion in a village seeped in superstition. THE CIRCUS is set in Victorian Cardiganshire. An 18 year-old Sara lives under the overbearing rule of her father - the respected local minister, Tomos. When the travelling 'Circus Supremo' strolls into Tregaron, the rural, uber-religious Welsh town, with an elephant in tow, it shakes up the withdrawn community and throws Sara into conflict with her father, who wants the circus and their 'demons' banished from his town.
