English The almost 40-year-old French woman played by Schneider begins her story with a decision to have an abortion and ends with a new pregnancy. It’s with another man, but she stays single and eventually keeps the other child. In between, only the mundane things appropriate to this generation in the garb of the late 1970s take place. I'm not one of those people who look to movies for a picture of someone else's life for my own pleasure, let alone a reflection of reality. Therefore, the film gained an interesting context given the fact that Romy was a controversial abortion advocate in real life. However, nominations for various awards don’t mean everything. ()
