It’s the summer of 1974 in Quebec. Feminism, trade unionism and Quebec nationalism are on the rise, divorce is still frowned upon, and couples are confronted with the lamentable states of their married lives. Meet Gaétan and his wife Huguette, and Serge and Micheline, whose search for marital bliss leads them to take a series of drastic decisions. It all starts when the quartet send their children off to holiday camp for three long weeks. Alone with their spouses, things soon turn awkward and the façades begin to crack. Who slept with whom, who is on whose conscience? And what has Serge’s young assistant Marie-Joseé got to do with any of this? Between the backyard barbecue and swimming pool, a life of ruthless criminality unfolds. Canadian actor and writer François Létourneau and his long-standing collaborator Jean-François Rivard have created a series that strikes its very own tone: maddeningly absurd, splendidly evil and above all, hilarious.
