English I needed to get the bad taste out of my mouth after Pablo Larraín's Jackie (2016). The TV mini with Joanne Whalley was the best choice for this. Obviously, I'm old school, I expect a biography to give me a framework of who the person was, how they were significant, and what background they came from, and I also want to experience the key highs and lows with them. For that, you need a ton of well-written dialogue, a cohort of humble actors, acceptable sets, extended footage, and distance. That's exactly what this Jackie offers. Satisfaction. ()
