Nina is a dancer and part of a theater troupe entertaining Russian soldiers at the front. After getting lost, she finds refuge with a group of partisans led by the rude Vladimir. Nina joins with the partisans and is entrusted by Vladimir with a dangerous mission to send a message to headquarters. The pair fall in love and fight on to the death. (Locarno Festival)
