Speed--it's easy to get and it's as close as the nearest set of high-performance wheels. Brian O'Connor, now a disgraced cop, fell victim to it--and now he's paying the price. As far as his bosses and the FBI brass are concerned, the hothead undercover officer threw one of their largest investigations ever. After losing his badge and any chance of redemption along with it, O'Connor is given one last chance when the feds in Miami need his help to collar Carter Verone, a flashy businessman whose using his import/export business as a cover for an international money laundering cartel. Cutoms has had Verone under intense surveillance for over a year with nothing more to show for it than the kingpin's link to illegal street racing. With their backs against the wall and time running out, officials put out a call for O'Connor to do what he does best--talk the talk and push the metal. But the rule-breaking loner has his own demands before taking on the job. He insists on recruiting his childhood friend and ex-con Roman Pearce as his partner. The Feds and Agent Markham offer Pearce, an accomplished criminal with an aptitude for barrier-shattering speed, a deal--work with O'Connor and his impressive rap sheet will disappear. Now, it's last chance for both, ex-con and ex-cop, and their ticket out of disgrace is bringing down Verone. But the lines become blurred once again for O'Connor with the appearance of undercover agent Monica Fuentes, the key to entering Verone's world who may herself be in bed with the shady entrepreneur. English The opening chase is delightful, even if it’s merely the same one from The Fast and the Furious. A feeling of unease builds up over the next twenty minutes. The rest of the film is boring and makes you want to beat your head against the seat in front of you. I swear to God, even the worst episode of Tropical Heat has a better screenplay than this bullshit. The main character is likable, but he’s too soft to carry an action flick. And the other main character is an unlikable and vulgar boor. The bad guy is promisingly conceived but underdeveloped. The plot is primitive and incapable of even tastefully playing with conventional clichés. If it weren’t for the beautifully polished and colorful machines, 2 Fast 2 Furious would be 1-star misery. English To be honest, I don't see much difference between this film and the much-vaunted first installment. The first one has perhaps a slightly more interesting story and characters, but otherwise it's pretty much the same. The action scenes were entertaining even as they were implausible (and really hectic); the central duo were also entertaining, the tuned up cars left me cold except for the blue Camaro. I watched without much harm and three stars is fair, I think. ()

English Paul Walker tries to convince us for the second time that he can act and even drive a car. This time he didn't have the help of Vin Diesel, who still became the mascot of the series just because he returned in the next installment, "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift". However, Walker's partner is an old acquaintance, or rather his old acquaintance. He appears out of nowhere, but apparently has a long history with Walker's character. It's quite a script trick, but it can be managed. Or it could have been managed if the film didn't try so hard to be cool and wanted to shock the viewer with great jokes. Here I am a bit ironic because the lines somehow manage to crash and fall apart. The story is quite similar to what we saw in the first film. It's once again about criminals and the attempt to catch them by driving really fast in expensive cars. The second time it's quite boring and especially uninteresting because the film doesn't bring anything new. It's a shame, but even though it might have seemed that the series was killed off with the second installment, it managed to revive itself with the third one, although it must be said, in a very strange way. In conclusion, I still don't like Paul Walker. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/08/warrior-x-ms-1-sibir-5x-rychle-zbesile.html ()
