Living Water

Water scarcity is a problem that the world will sooner or later have to address. Its potential consequences are already apparent in some countries that experience shortages. We journey to Jordan, one of the driest countries in the world. The eco-anthropological portrait of hardship in a local desert village combines several rhetorical approaches. The poetic images of arid areas aspire to a contemplative art film, but they are also spiced up by authoritative commentary and participation of social protagonists in the form of talking heads. The resulting mosaic provides a comprehensive view of the situation in a country where water is no longer a privilege but a scarce commodity. (Academia Film Olomouc)
