In 2011 an exceptionally intact dinosaur fossil was found. It was clear that this was no ordinary find. How did a terrestrial animal end up in a place which was underwater 110 million years ago? When the paleontologists learned of a discovery of a fossil in the Canadian oil sands, they automatically assumed it was of a sea creature. A terrestrial dinosaur had never been found in this environment before. And the mysteries continue. How did an armored dinosaur get into the sea? Why is the fossil so well-preserved? Why is it upside down? In the style of a crime series, the documentary shows the process of scientific investigation of what exactly happened to this dinosaur. (Academia Film Olomouc)

English A group of scientists use their expertise across different disciplines and modern technology to try to unravel the story of an incredibly well-preserved nodosaur fossil that has been waiting over 100 million years to be discovered. In the course of solving the "case", various theories and hypotheses are both proposed and refuted as to how the nodosaur under study actually died or could have died. In the end, the film offers a satisfying conclusion, although we must bear in mind that it is still conjecture, buried tens or hundreds of years below the Earth's surface. As a die-hard dinosaur fan, however, I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to prehistoric times, spiced up with a dash of "true-crime". ()
