California Typewriter (2016)

English I get it. A lot of people, including famous actors, have a fetish for old typewriters. That’s alright, and even the view that the documentary presents is quite good, because it's amazing what you can do with a typewriter, but it didn't make me feel any sort of nostalgic love. But all the power to those who love.

Bushwick (2017)

English There's nothing downright groundbreaking about the story, but I like how we, along with the characters, don't actually know what happened, and how gritty it is and how Dave Bautista's performance shows he's capable of more than just roles where he's primarily a comedic character. I am indeed intrigued by this rough struggle for life in the inner city.

Bullet Head (2017)

English It would be great if this film was cut down to an hour or so, because it would then have somewhat better drive. The film has a very interesting cast, especially John Malkovich, who can give it a lot of energy at times. However, the digital dog is a monstrosity and they should have handled it differently. Yet the film didn't upset me and I in fact quite enjoyed it. I like these games in a small space.

Beyond Skyline (2017)

English This is basically the same as the first film. The story isn't particularly good or bad, but it is kind of stale. The acting isn't great, which is to be expected in a B-movie, but it has great effects that are definitely worth paying attention to, all the more so because they don't skimp on them, even if sometimes you feel that some scenes are quite repetitive.

Sacrilege (2017)

English Sacrilege even tries to make a point at the end, whether it is expected or not. That's a factor I have to at least somewhat appreciate, because it explains how everything happened. It's a bit violent at times, but it’s nothing audiences can’t handle. It doesn't push the film to any great heights, but it gives it something extra that doesn't make it outright garbage.

Skyline (2010)

English At first glance, the film feels like a low-budget sci-fi with pretty bad acting, but it turns out that really only the acting performances are an issue, because as a sci-fi it works quite well given that there are quite a few scenes where something appears, and the CGI quality is surprisingly high.

Brigsby Bear (2017)

English I guess I was expecting this film to be a little weirder. At the beginning it seemed to have an interesting retro atmosphere, but in the end it turned out that it only flashed in places instead of really shining. Even so, Brigsby Bear is a film that is a very specific experience worth going through.

Breathe (2017)

English For a while I wondered if it was going to end up being shallow after all. It is, because you sort of know how it's going to turn out, even though you may not know the story of the man the film is about, but it's so well-acted that the performers convince you that it's worth watching a film like this. Yes, limits can be exceeded.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)

English This film is actually a blast! It has an incredible focus, and once it engulfs you, it doesn't let go until the end. You can tell the entire time that the special effects scenes aren't perfect, but you also see that it's on purpose and that it's not CGI. A wonderfully gritty show!

Brad's Status (2017)

English This film's feels like it’s going nowhere. It’s basically just about a mid-life crisis, wherein Stiller's character doesn't know if he's doing something wrong and doesn't know if he's made a big mistake in his life. The fact that everyone has a different perspective on one thing is captured well here. In terms of the acting, it’s good, but the plot still feels like it's going nowhere.
