Biography (1)
Wolfgang Petersen (1941) is a German screenwriter, director and producer. He studied theater science and attended film courses at the Berlin Film Academy. He has directed many TV movies. He made his debut with the drama One or the Other of Us (Einer von uns beiden, 1974). He found success with the films Das Boot (1981), and The NeverEnding Story (Die Unendliche Geschichte, 1984). In Hollywood he then filmed Enemy Mine (1985), Oubreak (1995) and Troy (2004).
