Carol Dysinger

Biography

Carol Dysinger directed the short documentary Learning to Skateboard in a War Zone (If You're a Girl) which won the best documentary short film award at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. Dysinger is also known for her feature-length documentary Camp Victory, Afghanistan, compiled from more than 300 hours of footage collected over three years. It premiered in competition at SXSW 2010 and was screened at the MoMA, Doc Fortnight, and the Human Rights Watch film festival. Funded by the Sundance Doc Fund and Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the film later appeared on public television. Before directing documents, Professor Dysinger edited many documentaries and feature films, including Deadline for Big Mouth Productions, Rain for Lola Films, Santitos for Springall Pix, and Punk which was nominated for an Emmy.
