Biography

Graduated from the ESAC, he wrote and directed the short film Treitum, winner of the Biznaga Award for best short film at the Malaga Festival in 2001. His films, Spanish Movie (2009), Promoción fantasma (2012), Tres bodas de más (2013), Anacleto agente secreto (2014), Superlópez (2018), Malnazidos (2020) and Un hombre de acción, the latter premiered on Netflix in 2022, collect several blockbusters with national and international awards such as best director in the Seattle Film Festival in 2016; the best film in the Montecarlo Film Festival in 2013; the best film in Panama in 2012 and 2013 or best film and the audience award in the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) in 2013 and 2016. His films have also been awarded with several Goya Awards for their visual effects in 2014 and 2019, four Gaudí Awards in 2015, and the Feroz Award for best comedy in 2013. Regarding television, he directed some episodes for El Ministerio del Tiempo; seasons two and three of Mira lo que has hecho, winner of an Ondas Award and an IRIS Award for best direction in 2021; and El otro lado, nominee for best comedy at the Feroz Awards in 2024.
