For centuries, golf has been a gentleman's game. A game of tradition, etiquette and, above all, sportsmanship... until now. Happy Gilmore is a hockey player skating on thin ice who discovers that his wicked slap shot easily converts into a crushing 400 yard tee shot with the potential for big bucks. Happy's career takes a 180 degree swing and lands him on the Pro Golf Tour, where he's about to turn the gentleman's game into a contact sport. A working stiff with a temper as short as his drives are long, Happy doesn't fit on the manicured greens of the country club. His outrageous antics, both on and off the course, cause an uproar among the players and officials; but his roughhouse style attracts hordes of new blue collar fans. Now Happy is going from rinks to links--and driving the game of golf straight into the ground. (official distributor synopsis)

English Finally, Adam Sandler takes his career in the right direction with a comedy that is like a dream. His Happy Gilmore is a perfectly written character who always has a sharp word at hand and doesn't hesitate to settle scores even with a killer crocodile, but we also root for him in his important mission to win money for her indebted and unhappy grandmother, bullied in a nursing home by a ruthless Ben Stiller. And to make matters more interesting, Gilmore happens to have the strongest swing of any professional player, which can get him very high, as long as he doesn't curse at a bad shot and beat his club angrily on the ground. You simply won’t get bored with something like this, I can promise you that... ()

English When I first saw this movie with Adam Sandler, I knew that this man would be my blood type. And even though there are movies that I really don't like from him, I usually enjoy them and laugh with him. I'm glad for that. Happy Gilmore is such a classic character of his, an uncouth package that you just have to love. For me, it's an excellent movie about an outsider with great moments. ()
