In the comedy Here Comes the Boom, former collegiate wrestler Scott Voss (Kevin James) is a 42-year-old apathetic biology teacher in a failing high school. When cutbacks threaten to cancel the music program and lay off its teacher (Henry Winkler), Scott begins to raise money by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter. Everyone thinks Scott is crazy – most of all the school nurse, Bella (Salma Hayek) – but in his quest, Scott gains something he never expected as he becomes a sensation that rallies the entire school. English It is only now that I really appreciate Bad Teacher. Here Comes the Boom is such an annoying variation of the aforementioned film that it is impossible that its authors took this seriously. However, I am not going to convince myself that the whole boring hour and three quarters was a subtle parody. A bunch of the most clichéd clichés possible (from patriotic to religious, self-belief and so on) with a comedian in the lead role who is not particularly funny and Salma Hayek in another role where she literally kills her talent (but not her charm, thankfully). There were a few funny moments, but even so... It’s nothing special, Hollywood lost this fight in the first round. ()

English Why does every film with Sandler or James have to start in a way that makes you want to give up and forget about the film? You have the main character in front of you who is as likable as a hemorrhoid that just popped out, and that certainly isn't something that would grab your attention and make you watch the whole time. Instead, you hope that this "hero" falls out of the window or kills himself on a motorcycle as quickly as possible. However, there is no such relief awaiting you, the only positive thing is that this idiot transforms into a somewhat bearable guy who tries to help his colleague. By the way, this irresponsible guy with Kevin James' face is a teacher at a school. Once again, the question arises: how is it possible that America has so many scientists? English The film alternates between very decent moments and absolutely pathetic moments. Unfortunately, it’s not an even ratio, the pathetic ones clearly win. Plus, the plot is very transparent, all the shots in the ring/arena look incredibly amateurish, and everything is drenched in pathos. To my own surprise, I liked Kevin James in the film. I find it strange, but I truly did. ()

English Kevin James was downright born to play the role of that stud. Also, this was perhaps the first movie where I had no problem with him being in the lead role. It’s apparent that he can carry a movie on his own, no problem. And when it comes to that, every MMA fan surely has to appreciate a pleasant comedy with some special roles. ()
