English Joy Ride is a teen version of Duel. It is both suspenseful and illogical, with decent plot twists and improbable shortcuts. However, it’s rescued by its clever climax. Abrams was already “paying tribute” to Spielberg a decade before Super 8. ()

English Great brotherly chemistry, seductive Leelee Sobieski, sufficiently scary moments with the line "Candy Cane," and perfect humorous inserts like fake scares during the hotel escape. Thanks to the unbelievably suffocating atmosphere and constant surprises, Jízda do pekel is a little unknown treasure for me. ()

English A solid thriller with a good cast (I liked the "ordinary" Paul Walker). The atmosphere is surprisingly well built and there are very few deaf spots. Slightly above-par. ()

English From my point of view, the American production Joy Ride is hardly anything you could call dizzyingly interesting. It has a subject matter that had been pretty well mined by 2001 whether with Duel or the similarly-themed and also very successful The Hitchhiker. Ride to Hell may have some drive, and Leelee Sobieski certainly is always impressive. However, even so, it is not very suspenseful. ()
