Turn of the century on Prince Edward Island. 13-year-old Anne Shirley, a young, orphaned redhead is mistakenly sent to live with an aging sister and brother, Marilla and Matthew. Having endured an abusive childhood spent in orphanages and the homes of strangers, Anne's spirit remains unbroken. So she will make the best of it, that is for sure.
