Penny Dreadful - This World Is Our Hell (2016) (episode)

English It was not an uninteresting episode, the creators added more action and tension to it this time, visibly lightening it compared to the previous intense installment. I didn't have a problem with that, I deducted one star because the American storyline simply lacks the quality atmosphere that the rest of the story possesses.

Penny Dreadful - A Blade of Grass (2016) (episode)

English Brutally good chamber episode, in which Eva Green once again showed her strength, but I must admit that Rory Kinnear definitely didn't fall behind. When the performances were accompanied by the desolate atmosphere, thick like winter smog over Silesia, there was nothing to question.

Doc Martin - Cats and Sharks (2011) (episode)

English Hmmm, so the breakup of the weirdest couple of the season obviously benefited, or I am personally so excited about it that I dared to reach for the fourth star again. Although Bert's constant troubles usually annoy me, this time I quite enjoyed the usurers.

Penny Dreadful - Good and Evil Braided Be (2016) (episode)

English This time, I was not as satisfied as with the previous episodes, I had the feeling that the storylines of Vanessa and the Monster were slowing down the pace of the story, the quality of the atmosphere decreased due to the American narrative part, and I originally wanted to rate the episode with four stars, but the emergence of the revolutionary cell in the center of London improved my mood, so I give it 5*.

Penny Dreadful - Predators Far and Near (2016) (episode)

English Neither the second episode disappointed me, the plot was interesting enough once again, it didn't lose its pace and brought enough action. I'm just not sure if, with the shift of part of the story to the American continent, the gloomy atmosphere that I had already gotten used to in the series won't gradually disappear. I also realize now that the gore will be taken care of mainly by the duo of Dorian/Lily, which was a good choice, those two are good at it.

Penny Dreadful - The Day Tennyson Died (2016) (episode)

English The biggest advantage of the first episode of the third season was the decision of the creators to not only continue the storylines from the end of the previous season, but also to capture the mood that permeated this ending. In addition, the excellent atmosphere, quality pace, and interesting new plot twists were not missing once again. New, familiar characters continue to appear, and I was greatly amused by the "squatter" in Malcolm Murray's house.

Penny Dreadful - Season 2 (2015) (season)

English I had quite an issue with Season 2. The pace that I was used to in the first season gradually diminished. It was annoying how the story was slowed down by various side-plots in which hardly anything happened. Some scenes felt like mere filler to stretch out the story. The second half saw a complete turnaround, the story picked up the right pace, the atmosphere full of tension was back and I finally started enjoying myself. Plus, I was very pleased with the well-crafted ending, which made me look forward to season three.

Penny Dreadful - And They Were Enemies (2015) (episode)

English Hmm, okay, all's well that ends well. The creators managed to maintain a great, dark atmosphere until the end, there was a well-built tension, Eva Green impressed me again, and Dorian Gray started to appear as an interesting character to me for the first time. I was particularly pleased with the somewhat bleak ending that crowned the successful episode.

Penny Dreadful - And Hell Itself My Only Foe (2015) (episode)

English As it stumbled several times in the series, I must praise the creator for the second half. Once again, the episode was full of interesting events, the opening scene already put me in a good mood, but even later I was not disappointed. The expedition to the witches' lair was underlined by a sometimes horror atmosphere, which nicely contrasted with the events around the Monster, which had lost the last illusions about the human race.

Penny Dreadful - Memento Mori (2015) (episode)

English In the eighth episode, luckily, there was still something happening, so I had no reason to complain. The atmosphere was once again strong enough, the story had a decent pace, and none of the plotlines were boring. I was amused by the transformation of Malcolm Murray from a puppet into a one-man army, the room of nightmares, and the confrontation between the Monster and Lily, but what pleased me the most was the development of the situation around Angelique.
